Properties in a recognized flood plain

If your property is in a recognized flood plain we can advise you on the best possible short and long term solutions to minimize the problems that flooding presents.

These solutions will vary according to the site location and many other factors and can only be resolved by a site inspection.

Sometimes it may not be possible to provide a total solution but methods to alleviate major problems.

Properties not in a recognized flood plain

If your property is not in a recognized flood plain then there could well be many solutions that will result in either, a reduction in flooding incidences and/or damage, or a total elimination of flooding problems.

Where this occurs we can undertake any surveying of the site, and modelling of the water flows (using HEC-RAS modelling systems), together with providing solutions to protect the properties.

This work can then be placed in the hands of suitable local contractors, with our supervision, resulting in the best possible solution.

If your property is flooded we would always advise you do the following :-

• Keep a diary of the incident
• Keep some photographic records of the flooding
• Mark out on site where the flooding occurred and to what levels the flood water reached.
• Keep a close record of all the items lost or damaged in the floods (for insurance purposes).
• Take all the preventative action we have recommended elsewhere on our website.
